Water Leaks & Leaking pipesWater leaks are responsible for the waste of millions of liters of water every year. For example, a tap that drips once every second will waste up to 33 liters a day! Some easy steps you can take around the house to save you water and prevent leaks are:
Use a dishwasher. Dishwashers that have a 3 star rating or more can cut the amount of washing up water you use by half.
Make your taps water efficient. This will not cost you lots of money and will dramatically lessen your water bill.
Install a modern 3 star showerhead. Your shower will still work well but you will save approximately 10 liters of water every minute.
Take care not to plant large trees over pipes and mains that run through your property as their root growth may damage the pipes.
Turn taps off gently to help lengthen the life of washers.
Ensure all building and renovation work is undertaken by a licensed professional.
